Former Baroka defensive midfielder Khalid Aucho says Young Africans are ready and raring to go ahead of facing Coastal Union in the Azam Federation Cup final on Saturday afternoon.
The Uganda international said they hoped their good record against the opponent would carry on in the potentially explosive final.
“It’s important to us because we wanted to win everything this season, but it’s going to be difficult because it’s the last game of the season, and last games are usually difficult,” he told FARPost.
The Yanga anchorman stressed that they aimed to win every game to create beautiful memories for their loyal fans. But he admits the dynamics in a cup final are different and says Coastal will not be a walkover.
“We need to be focused because you can’t beat a team easily three times. We’ve beaten them twice this season; the third time is always tricky. We want a win, and if we get a win, it will be good for our fans,” he added.
The Sheikh Amri Abeid Stadium clash will have a packed crowd, something Aucho and the rest of the team are relishing playing in front of. He said they look forward to seeing both sets of fans create an excellent stadium atmosphere.
Yanga won their 28th league title this season without being beaten, a statistic the Cranes midfield grafter is pleased with and wants to see continue in the cup final. Kick-off is 3pm [EAT].
