Euro giants bid R100m to Orlando Pirates for Relebohile Mofokeng!

Posted on July 16, 2025

Orlando Pirates could be braced to sell yet another one of their young superstars if the latest reports are accurate.

Pirates recently announced the sale of Mohau Nkota to Saudi Pro League side Al-Ettifaq in a shock deal.

Pirates just sold Nkota to Al-Ettifaq

The 20-year-old had just completed his breakthrough season in the Pirates season, crowing it off with a Bafana Bafana cap. Just as Nkota was expected to return and grow from strength to strength in the upcoming season, his move to Al-Ettifaq was abruptly confirmed. This without rumours or extended links. Another aspect adding to the shock factor was the expectation of Relebohile Mofokeng being the first to leave instead.

Mofokeng has been linked with European and African giants for the better part of the last two season now. After two and a quarter seasons at Pirates, many are of the impression that this is the window he finally leaves. His father Sechaba Mofokeng has also been vocal about his son being allowed to fulfil his dream to play abroad. Now according to the latest from Sportswire, European giants PSV have made a staggering R100 million offer for his services!

PSV offer them R100 million for Mofokeng!

“Dutch giants PSV Eindhoven have reportedly tabled a mouth-watering offer for Orlando Pirates star Relebohile Mofokeng.According to the Durban-based Ilanga newspaper, which has close ties with the Pirates, Eindhoven is believed to have made a R100 million offer for the Bafana Bafana international.Sportswire has learned that both parties are still in talks, and the deal is yet to be concluded. Should Mofokeng depart Pirates for the Dutch giants, it would mean the club has lost two of its best young talents this past season, following the sale of Mohau Nkota to Saudi Arabian side Al-Ettifaq on Sunday.” Wrote the publication.
