Eskom says it might implement short notice load shedding
On Tuesday afternoon, as temperatures dropped, Eskom announces that the power system was constrained and that it would be implementing short notice load reduction during the peak hours.
In the statement, Eskom warned that due to the continued shortage of generators, the power system was constrained.
“Should there be an significant breakdowns. Load shedding may be required at a short notice, most likely during the evening peak of 17;00 to 22:00” said Eskom
Eskom further said that load shedding would be implemented as the last resort.
“We argue all South African to use electricity sparingly.”
