Polokwane City have secured the signing of Equatorial Guinea international goalkeeper Manuel Sapunga ahead of the new season.

The 30-year-old stopper joins the Motsepe Foundation Championship side from local outfit Futuro Kings in his homeland on a one-year deal with a two-year option to extend.

It marks the first time he moves away from his home country after stints with Vegetarianos FC, Sony Ela Nguema, Mongomo before his successful three seasons with Kings.

As one of the standout players in Equatoguinean Primera División, much will be expected of the player who was part of the squad that reached the quarter-final stage of the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations in Cameroon last year.
