England have confirmed another player has left their 2022 FIFA World Cup squad.
Raheem Sterling is a notable omission from the starting eleven and substitutes bench and the English Football Association (FA) have stated he’s been left out due to a family matter.
It’s unclear whether the Chelsea winger will return to the Three Lions squad, should they advance past African Champions Senegal.
He joins defender Ben White, who was also allowed to leave Qatar for ‘personal reasons’ with the FA stating that he was seeking privacy during the matter.
The Three Lions face off against the Lions of Teranga at the Al Bayt Stadium at 21h00.
