Arsenal defender Ben White has left England’s World Cup camp due to personal reasons.
White was named in the final Three Lions squad by head coach Gareth Southgate. The former Leeds United defender didn’t play any match in the World Cup before leaving the camp.
The 25-year-old was not on the bench when England sealed their qualification spot by beating their neighbours Wales by 3-0.
The statement that was released by England Football Association states that White will leave Al Wakrah which is where they camping for the World Cup and return home for personal reasons.
It is further stated that White is not expected to return to the squad for the remainder of the tournament, with the English FA asking for the player’s privacy to be respected.
England will take on AFCON champions Senegal in Sunday’s round of 16 clash at 21:00.
