Moments before posting an Instagram video claiming that he was not a “deadbeat dad”, Dumisani Dlamini claimed that he was kicked out of his daughter Doja Cat’s concert in Pretoria.

The US singer performed in South Africa for the first time, at the Global Citizen Move Afrika concert at the SunBet Arena.

Days earlier, she claimed her father had declined an invitation to attend.

DUMISANI DLAMINI KICKED OUT OF DOJA CAT CONCERT

In a video circulating on social media, Dumisani Dlamini revealed that he had been kicked out of the Doja Cat concert on Friday, 20 March.

Filming himself, he said: “I’ve been told by management that I mustn’t come and see the show. And now I am going with security. They are kicking me out of the place. They are saying that I am not allowed to come and see my daughter.

Dumisani hinted that Doja’s claim of gifting him tickets to the show was false.

He continued: “I’ve paid the money for the tickets. No one offered me. I bought the tickets myself.

He added that management had offered him a refund for his tickets.

He added: “Funny enough, I had spoken to her about coming to the show”.

NO FAMILY REUNION

Dumisani Dlamini’s admission that he was barred from entering the concert comes after South Africans expressed hope that Doja Cat would finally meet her father.

The Yizo Yizo and Sarafina actor was photographed outside the venue, fuelling speculation of a family reunion.

However, Doja claimed just days earlier that Dumisani Dlamini had declined.

In a TikTok video captioned “The deadbeat chronicles”, the 30-year-old shared how she had contacted her father, Dumisani Dlamini, about meeting during her trip to South Africa.

She said: “He [Dumisani] said that he couldnt make it to my show because I don’t message him enough and call him on WhatsApp”.

Doja cheekily added that she had pranked her fad by sending him a link to “gay porn”.
