Canadian rapper Drake, known for his hit song God’s Plan, has lost millions after betting against South African UFC fighter Dricus du Plessis.
In the latest blow to the rapper, Dricus defended his UFC middleweight title by defeating Israel Adesanya in the fourth round at UFC 305 in Perth, Australia.
This marks the second time Drake has lost a large sum of money betting against Dricus. Earlier this year, he wagered over R13-million that the South African champ would lose to US fighter Sean Strickland, only to see Du Plessis win.
Drake, who has faced criticism for his gambling habits, placed a R8-million bet last week on the Nigerian-New Zealand fighter Adesanya, but Du Plessis prevailed, solidifying his title.
Following his victory, Du Plessis took to Instagram to thank his supporters and mock those who doubted him, including Drake.
He posted a photo of himself having breakfast with a beer in his hand and wrote: “History has been made. Thank you to everyone who believed in me and the incredible support. Those who didn’t … well that makes you look like a dumbass.”
