Dua Lipa in South Africa

British pop star Dua Lipa has officially joined the growing list of international stars to touch down in South Africa, and by the looks of it, she soaked up every moment of the experience.

The global hitmaker documented her first-ever visit to Mzansi on social media, sharing snapshots and reflections that quickly captured the attention of South Africans online.

In her Instagram post, Dua Lipa revealed that the trip was work-related, but she made it clear that she didn’t let business stop her from enjoying herself.

Alongside photos from Cape Town, the singer shared just how much fun she had exploring the country, describing her adventures as a mix of work and what she called “fun side quests.”

The post instantly resonated with locals, many of whom were thrilled to see the star experiencing South Africa for the first time.

South Africans flooded her comment section with messages of welcome, excitement and pride, with some already jokingly claiming her as one of their own.

One fan eagerly asked, “So when is the #CapeTown concert? 🙌 love you! 🫶,” while another added, “Dua Lipa in South Africa? 😭”

In true Mzansi fashion, the singer was even given a local name. A fan joked, “Welcome skhokho. Your NEW NAME is Dudu Lipa short for DUDUZILE which is Zulu. Sho 🇿🇦🔥,” a playful nod to the country’s habit of affectionately renaming visiting celebrities.
