A 70-year-old man has begun planning his funeral because he does not want his family to suffer when he dies.
According to the Kenyan news publication Tuko, the old man, only identified as Leo, said he had to take that step because his community struggled financially to bury people.

In an Afrimax documentary, Leo stated that he did not want to be a liability to others after his death.
He said, “I will buy my own shirt for my burial service, pay any pastor who will be holding the funeral ceremony, and provide almost anything that my family will be needing for the ceremony so they can reduce any cost when I die.”

According to reports, the elderly man, who is married to nine women, went so far as to dig his own grave and purchase a casket for his burial.
He told Afrimax that he had purchased enough alcohol to entertain the mourners who would attend his funeral.
