Downs Stars Dominate PSL Top 10 Most Valuable List

Orlando Pirates star Monnapule Saleng is now amongst the PSL’s top 10 most valuable players in a list dominated by Mamelodi Sundowns.

The 25-year-old winger has shot to stardom with Pirates this season and it’s no surprise to see him and his teammate Nkosanathi Sibisi now amongst the elite players of the league.

Saleng, who netted 15 goals and registered 11 assists in 30 games as they won the MTN8, Nedbank Cup and qualified for the CAF Champions League, has risen in value by more than double towards a €1.2 million (R25m) valuation in the latest Transfermakt update.

The PSL Footballer of the Season Teboho Mokoena also saw a staggering increase from €1.2 million (R25m) to €2 million (R42m) due to his incredible exploits this past season.

But the top spot was once again reserved for three-time Golden Boot winner Peter Shalulile whose valuation moved from €2.3 million (R48m) toward the €2.5 million (R52m) mark.

The likes of Khama Billiat, Thulani Hlatshwayo, Deon Hotto and Andile Jali have dropped out of the top 10 in a list dominated with seven Sundowns players after their sixth consecutive title win was wrapped up with a record seven games to spare.
