Mamelodi Sundowns-bound forward Abubeker Nasser scored a stunning goal for Ethiopian Coffee in their 1-1 draw against Bahir Dar Kenema on Monday.
Nasser, who recently turned 22 is set to join Sundowns at the end of the 2021/22 season and is continuing where he left off in the Bet King Ethiopia Premier League.
Having netted a record 29 league goals last season, he’s already added five more to his tally while playing in a number 10 role for Coffee this campaign.
But Monday’s goal proved why he’s considered one of the most highly-rated talents to emerge out of East Africa in recent times as he collected a long ball with his weaker foot to bring it down inside the area, before slotting home with his right foot into the far corner.
The goal wasn’t enough to secure his side victory in horrific conditions in a waterlogged pitch, but it was another inspiring display that will no doubt leave Masandawana’s technical team pleased.
It’s believed that Nasser signed a four-year contract with the South African champions in a deal worth close to R6-million but he was sent back out on loan due to Sundowns foreign quota being filled already.
If Nasser keeps up his current form, it will bring a welcomed headache for the Brazilians next season who already have Erwin Saavedra, Peter Shalulile, Gaston Sirino, Divine Lunga and Pavol Šafranko upfront.
