Kaizer Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove has confirmed that he is back in training after months on the sidelines due to a groin injury.

The Mozambican international last played a competitive match during African Cup Of Nations qualifiers against Rwanda in a 2-0 win.

Dove started the pre-season with Amakhosi but picked up an injury in the friendly against Tanzanian champions Young Africans, which they lost by 1-0

The former Cape Town City defender explained how difficult it was to be on sidelines, but he mentioned that he is back training and ready to fight for his place.

“I had a groin injury but now I’m back at training,” he told iDiski Times in edition 120 of the news paper.

“It [being back on the pitch] has been great man, this is something that we love doing, and when you find yourself not being able to do it for such a long time, it’s frustrating.

“I mean I’m just happy to be back with the gents and just getting stuck in there and I’m hoping to be back with the team camping and traveling and obviously back at playing again.”

The 29-year old will be battling in the AFCON qualifiers, as he received a national team call-up for Mozambique and will face Benin in a crucial match, where they need a draw to secure a place in Ivory Coast.
