The 2023 Knysna Simola Hillclimb is fast approaching with practice and the first three qualifying rounds on Saturday before Sunday shootout.

In my opinion it’s a world-class motorsport event that offers a chance for enthusiasts to gawk at beautiful classic cars on Thursday, 4 May and Friday, 5 May.

Salo will take on the 1.9km-long in a Mercedes-AMG A45S. The German super hatch is powered by a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine with 310kW and 500Nm.

Toyota Gazoo Racing GTC driver, Nathi Msimanga will represent the Japanese carmaker at the Simola Hillclimb and I’m looking forward to seeing the GR Corolla in the flesh for the first time.

The GR Corolla is powered by a G16-E 1.6-litre three-cylinder turbocharged engine with 221kW and 370Nm.
