Dondol Stars Crowned Gauteng ABC Motsepe League

Nedbank Cup quarter-finalists Dondol Stars secured their first-ever Gauteng ABC Motsepe League title. 

After a good run in the Nedbank Cup, Dondol Stars secured a spot in the provincial promotional playoffs after securing their first-ever ABC Motsepe League title. 

The Tshwane-based side had a stellar season after eliminating two DStv Premiership sides, Supersport United and AmaZulu in the Ke Yona competition.

The fairy tale of the Cup of Dreams, though, was ended by Orlando Pirates on penalties after the game had been level on 1-1 after 120 minutes of football. 

Stars had to turn their attention back to their domestic league and were crowned champions on Thursday after defeating African All-Stars by 3-1.

Khuliso Rashamuse’s side won a league that included the likes of Jomo Cosmos, Highlands Park, and Wits University.

The final date of the ABC Motsepe League promotional playoffs is yet to be confirmed.
