Doja Cat trolls dad Dumisani Dlamini after he refuses to attend her Pretoria show

Doja Cat publicly pokes fun at her father again

American rapper Doja Cat has left fans amused after sharing a hilarious, and slightly chaotic, exchange with her father, Dumisani Dlamini, while in South Africa for a performance in Pretoria.

The Paint The Town Red hitmaker revealed on TikTok that she had hoped to use her time in the country to reconnect with her father and invited him to attend her show.

However, things didn’t quite go as planned.

According to Doja Cat, Dlamini declined the invite, citing a lack of communication between them.

“I was messaging my father, because he’s here in Africa, and he said he couldn’t make it to my show because I don’t message him enough, and I didn’t call him on WhatsApp,” she said in the video.

Instead of pressing further, the Grammy-winning artist decided to respond in her signature playful fashion, by sending him a prank link.

“So I sent him gay porn, and said if you go to this link, you can get a ticket… and he said, ‘I will send this to my management, my management will handle all of this. At the moment I’m just very busy doing costume and rehearsal,’” she recounted.

Amused by the situation, Doja Cat went on to describe how her father continued replying with messages about being too busy, even as the conversation took an unexpected turn.

“He’s at work, and he keeps on messaging me, and he says, ‘I’m just very busy right now, I can’t get to the phone…’, and then keeps messaging that to me,” she added.

Not stopping there, she sent the link again after he appeared confused.

“And then I sent him the website again because he said, ‘What is the website?’”

The moment only got funnier when she mimicked his reaction upon opening it.

“He says, ‘Darling, what is this? What I’m seeing is gay porn… I don’t know if it’s a scam,’” she said, laughing.

The lighthearted story has since gone viral, giving fans a glimpse into the unconventional dynamic between the global star born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini and her father, who is best known for his role in the iconic film Sarafina! alongside Whoopi Goldberg and Leleti Khumalo.
