Doja Cat set to perform at the 2025 MTV VMAs

The 2025 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) promise an electrifying night as Doja Cat and others prepare to perform live in New York’s Sunday, 7 September.

South African music fans will be excited to see Doja Cat returning to the stage with her new single, Jealous Type.

DOJA CAT AT THE VMAS

The versatile artist, hosted the 2021 VMAs and impressed audiences with a medley of hits last year. She will deliver the first-ever televised performance of her latest track, according to Variety.

Doja Cat shared, “I’m so ready to bring Jealous Type to the VMAs stage. It’s been a journey, and I can’t wait to connect with fans worldwide.”

OTHER PERFORMERS

Post Malone will also make a triumphant return after a seven-year hiatus from the VMAs stage.

This year marks his 20th career nomination, including a nod for Best Collaboration with Blake Shelton for their song Pour Me A Drink. Post Malone’s comeback performance is highly anticipated.

Tate McRae is also set to make her debut on the main stage, celebrating four first-time nominations. She’s up for Song of the Year for Sports Car and Best Pop Artist.

The young Canadian star has been gaining momentum and will showcase her talents to a global audience.

JELLY ROLL TO PERFORM AT THE VMA

Alongside them, Jelly Roll and Conan Gray will perform at the VMAs, adding variety to the electrifying lineup.

Jelly Roll, nominated in four categories across Alternative, Country and Hip-Hop, aims to win his first Moon Person award.

South African viewers can look forward to the VMAs airing not just internationally but streaming options as well, broadening access to the event.

With the VMAs poised to deliver unforgettable moments, Doja Cat emphasised the importance of music connecting cultures.
