It’s no secret that electric vehicles (EVs) are on the rise and one-off Lamborghinis with dinosauric V12 engines are a thing of the past. But that doesn’t mean we can’t enthuse at the last of the breed.
One-off Lamborghinis mark end of an era
In this instance, they take the form of a pair of one-off Lamborghinis based off the un-electrically assisted V12 Aventador. The Lamborghini Aventador bowed out of production last year, in fact, but the Bolognese-based supercar maker must have a few cars left to shift, hence the one-offs.

The one-off Lamborghinis run the much-loved, free-breathing 6,5-litre V12, delivering 565 kW and 787 Nm of torque, which matches the output of the Aventador Ultimae (yes, another one-off Lamborghini).
Why should we care about the V12?
It’s one of the all-time greats, of course. Lamborghini has only built two V12 engines in its 60-year history. Soon the company will launch a newly developed V12 that’s augmented with electric technology in the form of a plug-in hybrid system. When it does, we will no doubt miss the guttural V12 even more.

We’re impressed by the Invencible and Authentica’s engine covers, which feature hexagonal vents in the same vein as the Sesto Elemento. This signifies lightweight construction will remain at the core of the Italian supercars going forward.

Similarly, the one-off Lamborghinis receive aerodynamics heavily inspired by the Reventon and Veneno concepts. Long may the naturally aspirated V12 live on in our hearts.
