DJ Sbu has added yet another accomplishment to his remarkable career after being recognised with a Lifetime Achievement Award by the Township Entrepreneurs Alliance (TEA) this past weekend.

TEA, an organisation dedicated to uplifting and developing township-based business owners, celebrated the media personality and businessman for the powerful footprint he has left in both entertainment and entrepreneurship.

Announcing the honour, the organisation highlighted DJ Sbu’s decades of influence and unwavering commitment to empowering young people across the country.

In its message, TEA said: “Honouring Sbusiso ‘DJ Sbu’ Leope for his long-standing contribution to South Africa’s creative, entrepreneurial, and social impact landscape. His journey continues to inspire generations to dream boldly, work with purpose, and uplift their communities.”

Widely respected for his work on radio, his music career, and his business ventures, including his successful MoFaya energy drink brand, DJ Sbu has long been a vocal advocate for township development.

His influence extends beyond entertainment through mentorship, motivational projects, and initiatives aimed at helping young entrepreneurs believe in themselves and pursue ownership.

The award recognises not only his professional achievements but also his continued dedication to guiding and supporting innovators from township communities.

Since the announcement, fans and fellow industry players have been celebrating his impact on social media.
