DJ Maphorisa’s mom opens Scorpion Kings Live

Scorpion Kings made history at Loftus Versefeld Stadium on Friday night.

The powerhouse duo, DJ Maphorisa and Kabza De Small, trended across social media as their sold-out concert became the highlight of the weekend.

Videos from the event have flooded timelines, with fans praising the scale and effort that went into the production.

What left many in awe, however, was the concert’s opening. DJ Maphorisa’s mother set the tone with a powerful prayer, a moment that has since gone viral.

Reactions to the show have been pouring in online.

One fan wrote: “The Scorpion Kings experience was a masterclass in production. From pristine sound design to the dynamic lighting sequences and that rotating stage, every detail was engineered to perfection. A world-class showcase. Salute to the team that was responsible.”

Another added: “Imagine not being in Tshwane Loftus right now. Nka loma springbok sako Kruger.”
