DJ Maphorisa called greedy for his multiple features on Mlindo The Vocalist’s album

Mlindo The Vocalist’s album Uhambo, which drops this Friday, has sparked major buzz after fans noticed DJ Maphorisa appears multiple times on the tracklist.

He features under three different names which are, DJ Maphorisa, Lawd Porry and Madumane.

These alter egos have their different functions; while DJ Maphorisa is famously known to be a producer and DJ, Madumane is known to be a vocalist.

The renowned producer and performer features in three of the 16 tracks on Uhambo, but in true Maphorisa fashion, he pulls up with not just one, but three personas. each credited separately on the album.

This unusual move sparked wild reactions on X (formerly Twitter), where fans couldn’t help but poke fun at the “Phori multiverse”.

Some of the reactions are:

“DJ Maphorisa, Lawdporry, Madumane, each name has its royalties? No one is smarter than Phori.”

“DJ Maphorisa, Madumane & LawdPorry in one album 😂😂😂. It’s one person in different forms… like water, steam and ice!”

“So there’s Madumane, LawdPorry and DJ Maphorisa???? This is real business 💰”

“How do I explain to my kid gore LawdPorry x Madumane x DJ Maphorisa ke motho oe1?”

“Madumane, DJ Maphorisa and LawdPorry, so much greediness 👀”

Fans are calling it “genius” and “greedy”, but it’s pure Maphorisa.

The strategic move has sparked debates online about royalties, branding, and just how deep DJ Maphorisa’s musical influence runs in the South African industry.

Some fans called it smart business, others joked that it’s borderline greedy.
