DJ Dimplez will be laid to rest this Friday

Legendary South African DJ, Dimplez, real name Boitumelo Athiel Mooi, will be laid to rest this Friday, 11 March 2022.

The funeral will be private and only close friends and family will be attending. A streaming link will be shared closer to the time.

There is also a memorial service planned by the Pop Bottles team which will be taking place after the funeral where everyone is welcome. Further details will be communicated soon.

The Mooi family thanks South Africa for the support they’ve shown them thus far.

DJ Dimplez passed away on Sunday, March 6th, 2022. According to a press release shared by his family, he passed on from a sudden brain hemorrhage.

Reflecting on the impact DJ Dimplez has had on his life and career, Cassper Nyovest describes him as an all-around good guy.

“Very kind, positive guy who always gave advice to better others. Even if Dj Dimplez didn’t agree with you, he would put it in a manner that wouldn’t offend you,” he said.

“ He gave me and others an opportunity to grow and show their talent. RIP grootman.”
