South African DJ and producer Chymamusique has expressed deep gratitude to his supporters after they rallied together to help cover his medical bills.

The award-winning musician, whose real name is Collen Mmotla, recently revealed that he had been readmitted to the hospital, just two months after surviving a car accident that tragically claimed the life of his friend, DJ Poizen.

Following the August 2025 crash, Chymamusique underwent multiple surgeries, including a major brain operation.

On Tuesday, 11 November, he shared on X (formerly Twitter) that his fans had raised nearly R60,000 in less than 24 hours through his BackaBuddy campaign to assist with his recovery expenses.

“Yoh, my friends and supporters raised R60k in less than a day. I’m honestly speechless,” he wrote, clearly touched by the overwhelming response.

Mzansi fans flooded his post with well-wishes and messages of encouragement, applauding his strength and the love he continues to receive.

My friends reached 30k in 8 hours , they really wanted to do this for my medicine 💊
