South African DJ and music producer Collen Ntala Mmotla, popularly known as DJ Chymamusique, has been discharged from hospital.

This comes after he had an emergency brain surgery, following a fatal car accident near Polokwane on August 30. According to his team, Chymamusique returned to the hospital on 27 October due to internal bleeding and a seizure.

While in hospital, he shared a video where he revealed that he has been in ICU for nine days after an emergency craniotomy surgery. A portion of the skull was temporarily removed to access the brain. This is often performed to treat conditions such as brain injuries, blood clots or tumours.

Taking to his X (formerly Twitter), Chymamusique shared a picture of himself on his hospital bed, after a successful surgery.

Chymamusique was involved in a fatal car accident that claimed the life of his friend, DJ Poizen. The accident took place on the N1 near Ysterberg Mountain, outside Polokwane, in late August.

Limpopo Department of Transport and Community Safety spokesperson Tidimalo Chuene said two sedans collided head-on before catching fire. Tidimalo also shared that four of the deceased were burnt beyond recognition.

While in hospital, the Don’t Wait Till I’m Gone: Musique Chant hitmaker advised his fans to enjoy life, despite its ups and downs.
