Kaizer Chiefs are keen on a reunion with a former player, Puso Dithejane. However, the 21-year-old has other admirers.

Although Chiefs have made contact with Dithejane, the versatile star hasn’t made up his mind on a potential move.

TS Galaxy chairman Tim Sukazi has confirmed that Kaizer Chiefs officials have made direct contact with star player Puso Dithejane and his family. However, the 21-year-old is a wanted man, with Mamelodi Sundowns reportedly at the head of the queue. Dithejane has come into his own this season, scoring four times and supplying four assists in 12 league appearances this term.

“I see most journalists are linking him with a move back to Kaizer Chiefs, so yes, yesterday I was with him, and he showed me a number of missed calls from Kaizer Jr, another missed call from Tera Maliwa, the Kaizer Chiefs scout,” Sukazi told Ikwekwezi.

“The boy’s father also phoned me to inform me that he had also received a call from Bobby (Motaung). He also showed me a missed call from Coach Vela Khumalo.

“It seems Kaizer Chiefs are still in the wooing process. Well, let’s see how it will go. Bobby has made contact with Dithejane’s father, but he advised Bobby to speak to me about the boy,” he added.

Orlando Pirates still favourites to sign Dithejane?

This term, versatile 21-year-old Puso Dithejane has taken his output up a notch with eight direct goal contributions from 12 starts in the league for TS Galaxy. Although Pirates have an abundance of quality wingers, there’s a growing belief that Rele Mofokeng’s long-term future lies away from the club. Dithejane’s ability to play anywhere on the right-hand side or even in central midfield. The former Kaizer Chiefs man is a wanted man, and the Glamour Boys would be furious to see him move to Orlando Pirates. Tshegofatso Mabasa is also a reported target for Chiefs.
