South African striker Dino Ndlovu is safe and was not hurt during the devastating earthquakes in Turkey.
The 32-year-old completed a move to Boluspor in the January transfer window but luckily wasn’t hit by the 7.5 quake that has killed over 3,000 people in Turkey and Syria.
Ndlovu told this publication that he’s safe, but devastated after one of his close friends lost more than 10 family members.
“I’m good, can’t complain,” Ndlovu told iDiski Times with a heavy voice.
“I’m good, just devastated with what happened. I’m good and safe.
“But to be close with this kind of reality, it really hits home because people that I’m close with here.
“And one of friends that I’ve known since Covid times, 2020, he lost most probably 15 of his family members, who are trapped [under the rubble] or died in Gaziantep.
“It’s hurtful, it’s really, really hurtful… but from my side I’m ok and safe.”
Ndlovu returned to Turkey in January after completing a move to second division side Boluspor after spending some time as a free agent.
The former Supersport United striker recently left Chinese side Changchun Yagan after making nine appearances, scoring once and assisting once.
He is not new in Turkish industry as he previously played for Kocaelispor, where he scored nine goals in 15 Lig 1 appearances.
Meanwhile, Ghana international Christian Atsu was one of the players who were stuck under rubble after the house where he was said to be on the ninth floor when the earthquake hit collapsed.
