Mamelodi Sundowns defender Rushine De eReuck has explained why he is confident Masandawana can do the double over Egyptian giants Al Ahly SC.
The 26-year old was part of Mamelodi Sundowns team that managed to make history in Cairo few weeks ago by beating Al Ahly SC 1-0.
Masandawana managed to keep a clean-sheet for the first time against Al Ahly on Egyptian soil and celebrated a historical first ever win in Egypt.
“They are a very, very difficult to play against. They make it difficult, very physical, they [are] up in your face,” De Reuck told Thomas Mlambo on the Ultimate Sport Show.
“That’s why they have won so many trophies. They always want to win and as Mamelodi Sundowns we want to be in that space and I feel like we can.
“If we can match them with the same aggression, the same fight, our football speaks for itself, the way we play.
“And I feel like we can do well against them and we’ve shown in Cairo as well that we can compete.
“But it’s important for us to go into this match with the right attitude, approach it the same way we did the game in Cairo and I believe we can follow something, get a good result.”
Mamelodi Sundowns will face Al Ahly on match day four Saturday afternoon. De Reuck empasized the importance of winning the game and doing double over Ten times CAF Champions League winners.
“This is a game, we want to be part of – Sundowns vs Al Ahly. So for me alone to be part of this it’s a dream come true, it’s one of the biggest games in Africa.
“And we have an opportunity now to do the double as you said, and hopefully if we win we can qualify to the next round.
“We are in a good space, we worked really hard, [we’re] in a good situation – in all competitions, in the Nedbank Cup, in the league.
“We need to keep on going and I feel like the group that we have, the players that we have, we can we do it on Saturday. We can get three points.”
