Maritzburg United have begun the process of restructuring their squad after the return of Faldu Davids as head coach.
This website understands Mogamad De Goede, has agreed to leave Stellenbosch FC on a three-year deal and has left Cape Town already.
The Cape Town-born player has been one of the longest-serving players at Stellies, as he joined the club in 2014 when the team was still in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
He has made 65 appearances in all competitions and only started nine games in the current campaign. It came as a shock to him to move to Maritzburg as he was one of the key players for Steve Barker’s outfit.
United’s newly appointed coach Davids is aiming to rescue the Pietermaritzburg club from the muddy waters.
The Team of Choice is propping the DStv Premiership table with 11 points after 13 matches.
Davids recently replaced John Maduka, who was sacked earlier last month after the club picked up just two wins in these matches.
Now Davids, who played for the club as the captain, then became assistant coach, caretaker coach and eventually, head coach, is overhauling the squad and has deemed few players out the exit door since he took over last month.
Maritzburg have the worst run of form in the league, in the last five matches than any other side, losing three and drawing the other two.
Davids feels De Goede, who has skippered Stellies this season, is the right man to turn things around, especially in defence that has leaked more goals (19) than any other side.
On the other hand, goalkeeper King Ndlovu, iDiski Times understands, is at loggerheads over terminating his contract with the club.
Ndlovu joined the Team of Choice from Marumo Gallants at the beginning of the season and has conceded 13 goals in nine matches, keeping just three clean sheets.

It led Maritzburg to sign Cameroon goalie Anye Derick Fru from Coton Sport de Garouain in July on a two-year deal 2024.
The highly-rated 27-year-old has not helped the club either, conceding eight goals in four matches and keeping one clean sheet.
Maritzburg is also set to confirm the signing of former Orlando Pirates versatile player Wayde Jooste, after this website confirmed he was under assessment at the club.
Jooste was released by Pirates at the end of last season alongside Davids, who was the co-coach with Mandla Ncikazi.
The club is also reported to be closing on the signing of former AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs right-back Kgotso Moleko, as per SABC Sport.
