Orlando Pirates will look to go three points clear in the Betway Premiership when they face AmaZulu midweek.

The Buccaneers come into the Usuthu match on the back of a convincing 2-0 win over Magesi this past weekend.

Goals from Yanela Mbuthuma and Relebohile Mofokeng were enough to give Abseslam Ouaddou all three points and the team’s first win of 2026.

When are Orlando Pirates playing AmaZulu?

The Buccaneers travel to Durban to face AmaZulu in the Betway Premiership at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Tuesday evening. KickOff is scheduled for 19:30 and the match will be televised on SuperSport channels.

The Sea Robbers are level on points with log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns and a win against Usuthu will put them three points clear of their rivals.

Against Magesi FC, the team did not have the likes of Evidence Mkakgopa and Sipho Mbule in the matchday squad.

Ouaddou explained why the Pirates duo missed the clash at Orlando but he did indicate that the players might feature against AmaZulu midweek.

“It’s simply a tactical choice, regarding the profile of the opponent,” said Ouaddou as per IOL.

“We have a lot of games coming, especially next week. We are playing against AmaZulu [in the league on Tuesday], and the cup [the Nedbank Cup, against Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila on Saturday].

“So, since we are going to play every three days, it’s very important to manage the workload of the players.”

Orlando Pirates could go top if they draw or beat AmaZulu on Tuesday evening. A loss will still see them drop to third while a win for Usuthu will see them top the standings for the first time in years.

Rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns are not in action midweek giving the Buccaneers are chance to go six points clear by next week.

Here’s how Pirates can lineup on Tuesday; Chaine, Lebitso, Sibisi, Seema, Hotto, Makhaula, Mbatha, Mofokeng, Appollis, De Jong, Mbuthuma

Can Pirates capitalise?
