  • Two Democratic Alliance MPs, Willie Aucamp and Alexandra Lilian Amelia Abrahams, will be sworn in as minister and deputy minister on 17 November 2025.
  • Aucamp becomes Forestry, Fisheries and Environment Minister, replacing Dr. Dion George.
  • Abrahams takes over as Deputy Minister of Trade and Competition, succeeding Andrew Whitfield.

Two Democratic Alliance (DA) Members of Parliament are set to be sworn in as ministers and deputy ministers in Pretoria on Monday, 17 November 2025.

This comes after President Cyril Ramaphosa’s sudden cabinet reshuffle, which happened last week.

Ramaphosa appointed the DA’s spokesperson Willie Aucamp as the new Forestry, Fisheries and Environment Minister within the Government of National Unity (GNU).  Aucamp is replacing Dr. Dion George.

Meanwhile, the DA’s Alexandra Lilian Amelia Abrahams is the new Trade and Competition Deputy Minister, replacing Andrew Whitfield, who was sacked earlier this year.

Whitfield was removed for undertaking an international trip without Ramaphosa’s permission.

George is said to have been removed for underperformance.

Presidential spokesperson Vincent Magwenya says that Ramaphosa will witness the swearing-in to be presided over by the judge at the Union Buildings.
