DA’s Ian Cameron admits to linking MaMkhize to the wrong Vusi

Democratic Alliance MP Ian Cameron has publicly apologised to businesswoman Shauwn Mkhize (popularly known as MaMkhize).

This comes after he mistakenly linked her to Vusi ‘Cat’ Matlala in a firearms case. Matlala is an individual who has been linked to the criminal underworld and Police Minister Senzo Mchunu.

As reported by news publication IOL, the ammunition actually belonged to Vusi Xaba, and Cameron admitted to a “slip-up” with the name.

Although Cameron apologised for the error, he maintained that the firearms were indeed stored illegally.

MamMkhize’s lawyer disputed this claim, demanding a public retraction and apology within 48 hours, citing harm to her dignity and reputation.

Cameron has agreed to issue a retraction while standing firm by his assertion about the illegal storage. This controversy follows explosive allegations made by Lieutenant General Nhlanhla Mkwanazi about Police Minister Senzo Mchunu and other powerful individuals.
