Daniels Feels Supporters Could Bring Maritzburg Much-Needed Energy

Ahead of their key DStv Premiership fixture against Swallows on Tuesday, Maritzburg United defender Clayton Daniels feels having the fans back could bring them the extra energy they need to get out of the relegation battle.
Maritzburg are currently 12th on 22 points, while Swallows are four points behind in 15th place.
The 37-year-old knows it is a big game as fans return to the Harry Gwala Stadium for the first time in two years, and a victory for the Team of Choice could see them pull away from the teams at the bottom.
“I think our preparations went well so far, we had an off day to recover from our last game and then we came in with a good energy and a good spirit preparing for our next game,” Daniels told the club’s media department.
“We know that it’s gonna be a difficult game, it’s a team also fighting in the relegation so ja, it’s a six pointer for us. We’re gonna do everything to get maximum points.
“I don’t think they will change a lot of the personnel in their team. Only thing maybe they will have a formational change also, maybe try to play three at the back, with wing backs.
“And ja, it’s very important for us, for our fans to come back now because we need them. I believe they can bring the extra energy that we need to get ourselves in a better situation.
“And hopefully we can make them proud of us, with the maximum points in the end of the day.”
