DA visits Tembisa hospital to look for skinny jeans and armchairs

Published

The Democratic Alliance will visit Tembisa Hospital TOMORROW to find out whether over-priced skinny jeans, luxury armchairs and hand towels were delivered to the hospital after paying R1.5 million for these items.

This follows the Gauteng Health Department’s refusal to confirm if they were delivered or not.

Murdered whistleblower Babita Deokaran flagged hundreds of payments totalling R850 million to fishy companies for goods, including R500 000 for 100 leather armchairs, face cloths at R230 apiece, and 200 skinny jeans for young girls at R2500 each.

Meanwhile, patients suffer because of a shortage of beds and equipment at this overcrowded hospital.

I will be accompanied on my visit by local DA PR councillors Selby Thekiso and Philip Thamahane.
