Crime bites: Two arrested for murdering Phamong brothers

Phamong – Free State police arrested two suspects for the brutal murders of two brothers in Phamong. The body of Pheello Mosebekoa, 32, was found inside a house, having suffered stab wounds to his upper body. His brother, Teboho Lesenyeho, 31, was found at a neighbour’s house with stab wounds to his cheek and neck. The brothers were attacked in their house by two men armed with knives and a panga.

Polokwane – The Polokwane High Court has convicted and sentenced 54-year-old Tlou James Mashita to 15 years in jail for the brutal murder of his girlfriend, Nkedu Merriam Vilakazi, 43. Her daughter discovered Vilakazi’s lifeless body in September 2016 at Tshamahansi village, Waterberg District, and reported the matter to the police.

Botshabelo – Police in Botshabelo are asking the community to help find Pesa Pheko, 37, who has been missing since 10 July. He was last seen leaving his house in L-section to catch public transport to Bloemfontein for a hospital appointment. Pesa was wearing a long green bomber jacket, black jeans, black sneakers, and a grey beanie.

Mahwelereng – Limpopo police have arrested a 40-year-old man for the murder of an elderly woman in Mahwelereng on Sunday. The woman was found tied up outside her home. She had been stabbed. The suspect, who lived near the victim, is set to appear in Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday.

KwaMhlanga – KwaMhlanga police have arrested three suspects who had been terrorising community members, robbing them of plasma TVs, cellphones, and cash. Over the past two weeks, the trio’s crimes were committed in Mloto, Mafishani, RDP Section, Zakheni, and other parts of KwaMhlanga. They appeared in court but were denied bail.
