Durban – Police in Durban raided six buildings in the city centre, arresting over 150 people suspected of being undocumented. They also found guns, ammunition, and counterfeit money. A key suspect and a person wanted for a rape case were caught. The raids focused on illegal weapons, hijacked buildings, and undocumented immigrants.
Bushbuckridge – Bushbuckridge police arrested a 33-year-old woman after her eight-month-old baby was found dead. The baby’s body was discovered with the mother at the scene. This happened on Monday at Boikhutso Trust, outside Bushbuckridge. The mother is expected to appear in court soon.
Polokwane – Limpopo police are searching for suspects after the bodies of two women were found in a pigsty on a farm. The bodies were badly decomposed. A man who was with them was injured and is in the hospital. The reason for the attack is unknown. Police are investigating two murders and one attempted murder.
Hazyview – Mpumalanga police arrested two men, aged 30 and 35, and a 61-year-old woman after finding them with illegal goods worth over R2.5-million. The suspects are facing charges of illegal possession of ammunition and illicit goods. They are in police custody and will appear in court soon.
Bethlehem – Bethlehem police are asking for help finding a missing pastor and his wife. Pastor Phillip Mashudu, 55, and his wife, Elsie Matlou Mashudu, 54, were last seen on Friday, 23 August, when they left for a church conference in Parys. They were driving a white Mercedes-Benz GLS with the registration ALTAR FS.
Kimberley – Gert Kock, 30, was sentenced to 18 years in prison by the Galeshewe Sexual Offences Court in Kimberley for rape. Kock threatened the victim with a knife, dragged her into the veld, and raped her. During the attack, the victim stabbed Kock in the genitals with a broken bottle. The incident happened on 15 March 2021.
