Court hears how Majola allegedly ordered a hit on DJ Warras

The state has implicated Victor Majola as the person who allegedly ordered the killing of assassinated media personality Warrick “DJ Warras” Stock.
The 44-year-old Majola is facing charges of premeditated murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
Investigating officer Captain Abe Montwedi told the Johannesburg Magistrates Court on Tuesday that CCTV footage from near the Zambesi building on 16 December 2025 shows Majola interacting with two men who were allegedly scouting the area shortly before Stock arrived.
Montwedi, who is presenting evidence to oppose Majola’s bail application, testified that Majola was seen pointing at DJ Warras while speaking to an African man with dreadlocks, saying “nangu lo muntu” in isiZulu, meaning “here’s this person.”
The court heard that the dreadlocked man allegedly waited for DJ Warras, who had briefly stepped outside the building to take a phone call, before shooting him as he returned inside.
DJ Warras was reportedly at the Zambesi building to install CCTV cameras at the request of the property owner.
Majola has denied knowing the deceased, claiming he only became aware of DJ Warras through his girlfriend, who was a tenant at the Zambesi building. His girlfriend was initially arrested but later released due to insufficient evidence.
Through his lawyer, Dumisani Mabunda, Majola has pleaded with the court to grant him bail, arguing that he was mistakenly arrested.
He submitted an affidavit stating that he has 12 children who are financially dependent on him and that he does not have a passport, which he believes reduces his flight risk.
Prosecutors believe Majola and his girlfriend orchestrated DJ Warras’ killing to continue benefiting from tenants’ rental payments.
Proceedings continue at the Johannesburg Magistrates Court.
