The corruption case against former Speaker of Parliament, Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula, has been postponed to 21 November 2025 to allow her attorney to consult with her on the docket provided by the state.

The case resumed at the Pretoria Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

Mapisa-Nqakula is facing multiple charges, including corruption and money laundering, for allegedly accepting bribes from a defence contractor, Nombasa Ntsondwa Ndhlovu, during her tenure as Defence Minister in exchange for government tenders.

She is accused of receiving and soliciting R4.5 million, with R2.1 million allegedly received in cash from a service provider.

Her attorney indicated that representations may be filed with the office of the National Director of Public Prosecutions pending the outcome of their consultation process.

Her R50 000 bail was extended until the next court appearance.
