  • Fannie Nkosi has been denied bail and will remain in custody at Kgosi Mampuru C-Max prison.
  • He faces charges including unlawful possession of ammunition and defeating the ends of justice.
  • Police allegedly found closed case dockets linked to cash-in-transit heists, along with cash and ammunition, at his home.

Corruption-accused police officer Fannie Nkosi is set to spend more days at the Kgosi Mampuru C-Max prison following his bail outcome.

The Pretoria North Magistrate’s Court denied Nkosi bail on Wednesday, 22 April 2026.

The Organised Crime Unit member is accused of unlawfully possessing ammunition, as well as a state-issued stun grenade.

He is also charged with defeating the ends of justice after multiple case dockets were found at his home during a police raid earlier this month.

The dockets relate to cash-in-transit heists and robberies in Limpopo and Roodepoort. All of the cases had been closed as undetected, meaning police could not establish leads for further investigation.

Officers also recovered just over R52,000 in cash, which was hidden under a bed and in a drawer, along with 490 rounds of ammunition.

This comes after he was suspended from the South African Police Service due to corruption allegations.

He will be remanded in custody until 21 May 2026 for further investigations.
