Connie Ferguson’s next project after cancellation of The Queen

Ferguson Films owner, Connie Ferguson has revealed what’s next following the cancellation of their flagship show, The Queen.

This comes after Multichoice confirmed reports by entertainment commentators that the popular show is being cancelled after seven years.

Mrs Ferguson took to her Instagram story and stated the new season of Kings of Joburg is on the way.

She shared a behind-the-scenes Instagram story that was posted by television producer Sabelo Mgidi.

The tv producer’s post read: “KINGS OF JOBURG SEASON 2! After many months with the pen, it’s finally time!!! The KINGS ARE BACK!

Sabelo also said he hopes his Grootman (the late Shona Ferguson) is proud of the Ferguson Films team.

Hope you’re proud Grootman!!! @ferguson_films. With the best team in the game, @connie_ferguson @samaddavis Let’s go!

Sabelo was part of the production for season 1 of King of Joburg which received rave reviews.

Connie’s late husband Shona Ferguson took to his social media account that Kings of Joburg will be making a comeback to Netflix three months before he passed away from Covid-19.

I have news. My news is Kings of Joburg Season Two is coming,” said Shona.

Season one of the Kings of Joburg starred Shona Ferguson, Gomora actors Zolisa Xaluva and Thembi Seete, The Queen actors Cindy Mahlangu and Sk Khoza and The River actors Tsholofelo Matshaba and Lunathi Mamphofu as well asTokollo Sebothoma and Abdul Khoza and Buhle Samuels.

The Netflix series followed the Masire brothers who rule Egoli’s underworld and are threatened by a supernatural family curse.

It is unclear at this stage when season two will premiere on Netflix!
