Connie Chiume remembered a year after passing

Connie Chiume was remembered on the anniversary of her passing through a heartfelt message shared on her official social media platforms.

The tribute marked one year since the iconic actress, mentor, and industry trailblazer died, describing her as a “beloved mama, mentor, and guiding light.”

According to the post, Connie left behind a legacy spanning 47 years of acting and 28 years of uplifting young creatives.

“Mama’s unwavering commitment to storytelling and developing talent shaped countless lives and dreams,” the statement read.

“Through her guidance, artists found their voices and paths in the creative world.”

To carry her mission forward, the Connie Chiume Student Film Festival has been launched as a platform for emerging filmmakers, a vision she always dreamed of.

“Mama’s spirit lives on in every story told, every dream pursued, and every creative soul she touched.”

The post, signed by the Connie Chiume Foundation, ended with a touching tribute: “Rest in eternal peace, Mama. Your light continues to shine through all of us.”
