Former Orlando Pirates dribbling wizard Khethokwakhe Masuku is back in the Premier Soccer League.
Masuku, who showed his skills at Pirates with a bit of showboating at times, has been signed by Motsepe Foundation Championship newbies La Masia.
“Yes, it’s true that we have signed Masuku,” La Masia chairman Nazeer Becker told iDiski Times.
“But I can’t give you the duration of his contract.”
Masuku, who also played for Black Leopards, Bloemfontein Celtic and Royal Leopards and now defunct Royal Eagles, has been clubless for some time.
The 37-year-old has been without a professional club since 2018, where he was released by Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila (TTM). He also played in the ABC Motsepe League for Baberwa FC.
Aware of Masuku’s time away from professional football, La Masia handed Masuku an intense training program so that he can get his sharpness back.
“He has been under assessment with us for the last three to four weeks. Based on what we saw, we were impressed and that is why we signed him,” revealed Becker.
Masuku is joining Denalo’s Hendricks’ side, who are using Bidvest Wits Stadium as their home venue and are sitting in 12th spot on the log with four points after four matches. Their only victory came against JDR Stars, who they beat in the first game of the season.
If Masuku is fit, his first game for La Masia will be against Pretoria Callies on 1 October.
