Confidence the game-changer for high riding Royal AM, says Maduka | Breaking News

As Royal AM ride on the crest of a wave, the club’s coach John Maduka believes playing with confidence has been the game-changer for his charges.
The Durban side is revelling after a nine-match unbeaten run, with Maduka named Coach of the Month for February and March, while Mxolisi Macuphu was named the best player for the same period.
The MaMkhize-owned side sits in second place with seven games before the curtain comes down on the season.
The 51-year-old’s winning run led him to be named the Coach of the month for February/March.
“You must have confidence and believe in yourself that you can do it, and then when you go onto the field of play, it becomes a bit easier,” Maduka told SuperSport.
“But if you lack confidence, it becomes difficult because your movement and decision-making will not be right.”
The former Malawi international, who was head coach of Bloemfontein Celtic when the owners of Royal AM purchased the team, is not content despite the recent run of form. He said it was still a work in progress.
“It’s football; you lose some and win some, it’s a young team, but we’re getting better and better so far. We will win games, but you know the way it is; everyone wants to shoot us down. It’s not easy for the players, but they’re working hard,” he added.
This Sunday, Royal AM play GladAfrica Championship title contenders Pretoria University in the Nedbank Cup quarterfinal, and Maduka will be looking to lift silverware to cap off a good season.
