There had been some controversy around his arrival even though he is held in high regard since making his debut for the Lone Stars at the age of 19 and scored his first international goal at AFCON 2021 against the Ivory Coast in the group stages.
Some reports on social media alleged Bo Rangers Chairman Bababi Kamara was withholding his passport so he wouldn’t be able to travel to South Africa, resulting in the club releasing a furious statement, denying those rumours.
There were conflicting statements that his contract had come to an end, while Bo Rangers had insisted the striker, who was the club’s top goalscorer in back-to-back seasons and helped them to qualify for the CAF Champions League, still has another year of contract.
However, in a new twist the Sierra Leonean club announced on Wednesday they have terminated the contract with Kamara due to disciplinary issues and a “wacky attitude” which has done “repetitional damage” to the club and it’s chairman (see full statement below).
Last week, it was reported that Kamara had signed with Al-Ittithad Tripoli, but the Libyan side did not announce the signing.
Chiefs, meanwhile, seem long to have moved on from the controversial striker, whose off-pitch baggage seems to outlay his undeniable talent, announcing the arrival of Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana.
