Claire Mawisa joins BBC

Media personality Claire Mawisa has ticked two major milestones with her recent wedding celebration, as well as landing an international gig with BBC.

Claire has been appointed as a freelance reporter for the BBC World Service’s investigative documentary series, BBC Africa Eye. She brings her journalistic eye and investigative skills, focusing on social, political and cultural issues across the continent. Her debut investigative story was Shadow Healers: South Africa’s Psychedelic Journey.

“This new chapter with BBC Africa Eye is a responsibility I’m honoured to have. I am committed to telling stories that bring meaningful change and shifting perceptions about Africa on a global stage,” said Claire in a statement.

 

 

Not so long ago, she had tongues wagging about her dreamy white beach wedding and her Xhosa traditional wedding attire. For her white wedding, Claire wore a stunning white dress and an intricately crafted head piece.

 

Explaining her head piece, she shared that she worked with Elizabeth Morr. She revealed that she had a long brief that included symbols personal to them, with mixed metals, mother of pearl, and the hero, the cowrie shell. “Thank you to Lebo for her commitment in making this piece as breathtaking as it was, and for maintaining the integrity of the vision,” she penned.
