City Makoti shows off her new smile

Anika Dambuza, popularly known as City Makoti, has opened up about her latest dental transformation, giving followers a detailed look at the cost, process and recovery behind her new smile.

The reality TV star shared a TikTok video explaining that she recently got composite veneers, offering insight into how the procedure works and why she chose it over other options.

According to her, composite veneers differ from porcelain ones because they are built onto the natural teeth rather than replacing or filing them down.

“So, they build onto your teeth, whereas you might think of other veneers or crowns where they file away your tooth. My teeth are still here, and I can actually remove it and have my old teeth back. This process is obviously then much more affordable than your crowns, your other veneers, your porcelain veneers,” she explained.

City Makoti revealed that she had the procedure done at a dental practice in Benoni, paying R3,000 per tooth.

While she initially planned to fix six teeth, she eventually extended it to eight to achieve a fuller smile, bringing the total cost to R24,000.

She added that she opted not to work on her bottom teeth, saying she was satisfied with how they already looked.

The procedure itself reportedly took around three hours and, unlike her previous teeth whitening experience, was not painful.

Opening up about the recovery process, the influencer said she had to be mindful of her diet and oral care routine in the days that followed.

“I mostly ate white things afterwards, and after a few days, I had a little bit of coffee. But I would rinse my mouth, brush my teeth and even with this, the dentist suggested to just have a dry brush, a soft bristle brush after lunch and brushing your teeth morning, evening and flossing, which is something I’ve been doing now,” she shared.

She also mentioned that her earlier teeth whitening treatment cost R6,500, adding that she is pleased with the final outcome.

@thecitymakoti I did my teeth at @SMiLeiNNoVA and I couldn’t be happier 🥹 This is something I’ve always wanted to do and I’m so grateful that I could finally do it. I hope I answered all your questions ♥️ Feel free to leave more questions in the comment section #compositebonding #johannesburg ♬ original sound – TheCityMakoti | Anika Dambuza
