City Make Decision On Makola

Cape Town City have secured veteran midfielder Mpho Makola for another season after helping guide them to CAF Champions League qualification.
Makola joined City at the beginning of the 2019/20 season after leaving Orlando Pirates, since then the 36-year-old has made more than 70 appearances in all competitions for the club finding the back of the net three times and assisting on four occasions.
Bibo played a vital role in this season’s Citizens qualification for Champions League, also helping the side to reach the MTN8 final which unfortunately they lost to Mamelodi Sundowns on penalties.
On Friday morning City announced that they have extended midfielder maestro’s contract till June 2023, which means he will be part of the team that will participate in the continental competition when the 2022/23 campaign gets underway in August.
Makola who mostly serves as a rotational option under Eric Tinkler with his vast experience in their youthful squad has racked up 73 appearances for the club scoring three goals and registering four assists in a deep-lying playmaker role.
