Chris Noth has spoken out about the end of what he thought was a friendship with Sex and the City co-star Sarah Jessica Parker.
In an interview with People Magazine, Noth said that he was hurt not hearing from Parker when allegations of sexual assault against three women came out against him in 2021.
According to People, Noth denied all accusations at the time, stating that he “has and would never cross that line,” and further calling the stories “a complete fabrication” that “read like a piece of bad fiction.”
Parker and her castmates, Cynthia Nixon and Kristin Davis, released a statement on social media in support of the alleaged victims: “We are deeply saddened to hear the allegations against Chris Noth. We support the women who have come forward and shared their painful experiences. We know it must be a very difficult thing to do, and we commend them for it.”
“… It was sad, it was disappointing, it was surprising,” Noth said of the statement the three ladies put out. “Because you need to call me and hear my side of this. You’ve known me for many years,” said Noth to People.
Specifically of Parker, 71-year-old Noth had this to say on a recent podcast: ‘We’re not friends – I think that’s pretty obvious,’ as reported by Daily Mail.
Solidifying his feelings toward Parker, when 60-year-old Parker won an award recently, Noth interacted with a comment from an Instagram user who said: “F*** sjp and her award” by commenting: “Right”.
The other ‘Sex and the City’ cast fallout
Parker has a long-standing feud with a fan favourite of the Sex and the City cast, 69-year-old Kim Cattrall. It all came to a head when Cattrall’s brother died in 2018, prompting a social media message of condolences from Parker.
Cattrall took offence to that message, and expressed as much by responding: “You are not my friend.”
Cattrall has not returned to her character, Samantha Jones, since before the rift became public.
