Belgian Luc Eymael quit bottom Betway Premiership club Chippa United on Wednesday, the fourth coach to be fired or resign from the Gqeberha team just three months into the season.

Sinethemba Badela was sacked after two matches, and fellow South Africans Musa Nyatama and Morgan Mammila lasted one match each before being fired.

Eymael, who has coached in 11 African countries, took charge at the end of August.

His reign began with a 3-0 home loss to Orlando Pirates and he won only one of seven league and cup matches.

Second stint in charge

After announcing the departure of Eymael, 66, Chippa United said South African Vusumuzi Vilakazi would return to the club for a second stint in charge.

Chippa United were formed in 2010 by chairman Siviwe Mpengesi, who became a millionaire by collecting abandoned shopping trollies and returning them to supermarkets.

He has hired and fired numerous coaches each season with little success as Chippa United have narrowly avoided relegation numerous times.

Chippa United have six log points after 10 matches thanks to one win, three draws and six defeats.

They have scored seven goals and conceded 16 in the fixtures to date.

They will next be in action on Tuesday, 4 November at home against Magesi FC. Kick-off is at 19:30.
