Today’s Kaizer Chiefs rumours look at the future of Pitso Mosimane and the latest on Khanyisa Mayo. There’s also a Ghanaian star linked.
Kaizer Chiefs chasing Ghanaian maestro?
According to Soccer Laduma, Danish clubs Midtjylland and Randers, as well as Tanzanian side Azam, are monitoring 20-year-old Ghanaian midfielder Hubert Gyau. He’s on the books of Asanta Katoko and has scored four times in 21 league appearances this term. He’s contracted to Prosport International, and CEO agent Mike Makaab says they have not had any official approaches from any club as far as he knows.
Mayo’s stint with Kaizer Chiefs will come to an end
27-year-old ex-Cape Town City striker Khanyisa Mayo has been underwhelming during his loan spell from Belouizdad in Algeria. It’s highly unlikely that the deal will become a permanent one, given that he’s managed only one goal in 12 appearances, and that was on his debut back in September. It’s disappointing, given that Mayo knows the league well and has the pedigree and quality to excel at this level.
Pitso Mosimane addresses South Africa return rumours
Speaking on the SMWX Podcast, Mosimane addressed speculation about a potential return to South African football:
“I’ve seen those on social media, I’ve seen that,” he said. “Look, it’s possible. Never say never in life. I was laughing when I saw Mike Tyson going back to boxing.
Mayweather came back, George Foreman came back. I don’t know, but yes, it is possible. Why not?”
