Chiefs to move into Champions League place above Pirates?

Currently in third place with 27 points, a win for Kaizer Chiefs will lift them into second place, the Betway Premiership’s traditional position to qualify for the next CAF Champions League.

Orlando Pirates, sitting in second place with 29 points, only play later on Saturday at home to Magesi FC.

MARUMO GALLANTS HOST AMAKHOSI IN BLOEMFONTEIN

Gallants, known as Bahlabane Ba Ntwa, have not had a strong season. Alexandre Lafitte’s side sit 12th in the 2025/2026 with 15 points from 15 matches.

In the league, Gallants have managed a few wins, including against Orlando Pirates and Chippa United, but have also suffered heavy defeats, such as a 2-0 loss to TS Galaxy and a 4-0 thrashing by Golden Arrows.

In cup competitions, they reached the Carling Knockout final but lost 1-0 to Orlando Pirates in extra time.

Kaizer Chiefs, meanwhile, have been one of the league’s most consistent sides. After 14 matches, Amakhosi have recorded seven wins, six draws, and just one defeat. They remain the only team still unbeaten on the road, conceding just six goals while scoring 14.

Defensively, Brandon Petersen has been a key figure, helping the team keep 10 clean sheets so far. Up front, Flavio Silva leads the scoring with four goals, supported by Mduduzi Shabalala, who has added three goals and one assist.

The Bloemfontein clash will test Kaizer Chiefs’ consistency against a team that, despite struggles, has shown it can compete.

A victory for Amakhosi would not only see them overtake Orlando Pirates in the standings but also strengthen their push for a Champions League spot.

WHERE TO DO YOU EXPECT KAIZER CHIEFS TO FINISH AT THE END OF THE SEASON?
